Birmingham is one of the major telecommunications centres in the country, having immediate access to one of the most advanced telecommunication networks in the world. As well as a comprehensive fibre optic network Birmingham is at the forefront of the roll out of WiFi service, with a contiguous public service available in the City Centre from March 2007.

Birmingham’s telecommunications network is entirely digital. The entire City is Broadband enabled and other key network services such as MPLS, SDH and ATM Technology are widely available offering organisations a complete package of state-of-the-art telecommunications services and applications from a number of alternative suppliers.

The success of the city as a location for call centre and e-business operations is due in part to the extent and range of telecommunication services available to companies in Birmingham.
