Birmingham’s professional and financial services sector (second only to London) is the fastest growing sector in the City’s and region’s economy

Birmingham is the most significant regional capital for professional and financial services outside London. Around 140,000 people are employed in the sector in Birmingham and Solihull. This represents 24% of the total employment in the area. Over the next 10 years it is estimated that this sector will require over 50,000 extra people.

Birmingham Forward, who have 250 member firms employing around 80,000 people, is the organisation that brings leadership to that sector. The strength of Birmingham Forward lies in the breadth and depth of its membership, from small businesses to large global players, contributing to the growth and development of the city.

Birmingham Forward works closely with organisations such as the City Council, Advantage West Midlands, Marketing Birmingham and the Learning & Skills Council in promoting the city and on initiatives such as business growth, transport, education & skills, accommodation and the environment.
