Quintain Secures Early Development for Eastside

Quintain Estates & Development plc has exchanged contracts with Hotel La Tour for the long leasehold disposal of Plot 4 at City Park Gate, which is located next to Moor Street Station at the gateway to the Eastside regeneration area in Birmingham. City Park Gate will deliver over 1 m sq ft of mixed use accommodation and this deal will result in the early development of a 4-star hotel on the site.

Hotel La Tour, established in 2007, is led by prominent hoteliers Alan English, Norman Bellone and Jane Schofield. This move follows on from the sale of their Hayley Conference Centres business to Principal Hotels for £358m. Seen as leaders in the conference and training market, the Hayley Conference Centres were renowned for exceptional levels of service.

The Hotel La Tour at City Park Gate will be a contemporary, stylish 4-star development offering 200 rooms and approximately 12,000 sq ft of highly flexible function and meeting room space capable of accommodating up to 200 delegates at any one time.

Hotel La Tour have identified several sites in major UK cities, which are in various stages of the development process. The intention is to establish Hotel La Tour as a prominent UK brand over the next 5 years.

Lewis & Hickey Architects have been appointed by Hotel La Tour. Nick Williams at Savills, Birmingham acted for Quintain and Geoff Robotham, Property Director for Hotel La Tour, led the acquisition.
