Lord Mayor welcomes Capsticks to Birmingham

February 12 2009

Capsticks Solicitors LLP marked the opening of its new office in Birmingham at 35 Newhall Street with a launch event held at Hotel du Vin on Thursday 12 February where The Lord Mayor of Birmingham Councillor Chauhdry Abdul Rashid JP and his wife, Shafait Rashid, the Lady Mayoress officially welcomed the organisation to the City.

Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor Chauhdry Abdul Rashid JP, said:
“Capsticks decision to open this office is another very welcome addition to the city’s vibrant legal sector which has attracted a number of new and leading law firms in recent years and I feel sure that the Capsticks team will receive a very warm and encouraging welcome from the local business community.”

Gary Hay, lead partner of the Birmingham office, commented, "Opening an office in Birmingham has been a hugely significant development for the firm. The true extent of the opportunities for us here becomes clearer every day.

We have for a long time been recognised as one of the country's leading healthcare law firms. The new office shows that we are committed to offering our expertise and working methods to clients on a national basis. Birmingham has provided the perfect launch pad from which to demonstrate that commitment, and we are extremely grateful to the local community for providing a high level of support

On recruitment, we have taken care to fit the right people to the right roles locally - it was always essential that our new recruits should add value without in any way undermining the core strengths of our brand. This will continue to be our strategy.

There is a tangible sense of excitement around the firm over what we are now in a position to achieve."

Mike Loftus head of Locate in Birmingham, the city council’s investment service, said “We have worked for some time with a range of partner organisations including the Birmingham Law Society and Birmingham Forward to promote Birmingham as a location for legal firms and we were delighted when Capsticks made Birmingham the destination for its first office outside London.”
