Birmingham Built for Business

September 29 2008

At a time when the national and international economic and business climate is less than positive, Birmingham is launching a campaign to demonstrate the mood of confidence emanating from the city.

The campaign will focus on Birmingham’s investment potential, growth and regeneration plans that mean it is not only fighting the recession, it is driving the growth agenda for business.

The campaign will be delivered through Marketing Birmingham and will involve advertising in appropriate national press and also at London mainline and underground stations.

The key aim is to influence national business and London centric business in particular, to emphasise Birmingham’s confidence in its economy

With planned major developments of £17 billion over the next 10 years, key public sector investments will continue to pump prime the marketplace. Birmingham will see massive investment in New Street Station; a world class library; runway extension at Birmingham international Airport; a new state of the art super hospital; and an impressive magistrate’s court.

Never one to rest on its laurels, Birmingham is working on producing a Big City Plan. The plan was recently celebrated as the most ambitious masterplan in the world by the BEX conference in Valencia.

Birmingham's Big City Plan is a masterplan that will draw on that legacy to shape and revitalise the city centre over the next twenty years. The Plan will guide Birmingham's economic, social and environmental future. It will help Birmingham perform successfully on an international stage and will equip Birmingham to meet both existing and future challenges, while building upon its recent successes.

Birmingham has a proven track record, to play your part:
