Express by Holiday Inn for Birmingham's Edgbaston Mill Scheme

Calthorpe Estates, the award-winning property development and investment company, has strengthened Birmingham's hotel offering by securing Express by Holiday Inn for their new £100 million retail and leisure development, Edgbaston Mill.

A new 200 bedroom Express by Holiday Inn hotel will be created at the 450,000 sq ft scheme, which is situated opposite Edgbaston Cricket Ground.

The hotel will deliver high quality air conditioned bedrooms featuring a flat screen television, internet access, power shower and complementary tea and coffee making facilities.  In addition, guests will enjoy a complementary breakfast and have access to a spacious terrace area overlooking Cannon Hill Park.  Additional facilities include a suite of meeting rooms, bar area and an informal dining offer in the evenings.

Starboard Hotels will develop and operate the hotel under a franchise agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group.

Edgbaston Mill is being developed by Calthorpe Estates and Cordwell Leisure Developments and also has planning consent for 39,400 sq ft of retail and restaurants, 31,000 sq ft of leisure space, a 4,000 sq ft foodstore and 64,500 sq ft Grade A offices.

344 luxury apartments are also being developed by Redrow Homes to complement the scheme. Over a third have already been sold and the first residents began to move into the apartments late last year.
