Living in Birmingham
Birmingham has a wealth of diverse housing stock, both within the city and on its more rural, yet easily accessible outskirts.
Edgbaston, where many of the industrialists and merchants who helped to build the city chose to live, features a great number of impressive residences and most visitors find it hard to believe that its leafy roads are in the centre of a great city. Adjacent to Edgbaston is the highly regarded residential area of Harborne offering a good choice of traditional housing.
The City Centre canal network has provided a particular focus for new development and a catalyst for urban regeneration in Birmingham. The regeneration of Gas Street basin, Brindleyplace and Aston Science Park has shown how development can make positive use of its canal side setting. Many new prestigious apartment buildings, have been built here, offering great views, a secluded environment, coupled with the latest hi-tech specifications.
According to a recent survey, Birmingham is the easiest city in which to travel to work. In an interview of 400 residents living in Britain's cities (Birmingham, Newcastle, Manchester, Bristol, London, Southampton and Leeds) has also revealed that Birmingham has a great choice of restaurants and is considered very fashionable.
